Built by the United States Railway Administration to aid the WW1 war effort, this car features outside steel bracing and wooden sides with built-up steel underframe. They were seen in steam and diesel consists until the mid-60's, and in work-train service until the 80's.
These cars feature injection molded ABS bodies and detail parts with 24 metal grab irons. Cars will come appropriately with either Andrews or AAR type "Y" trucks (PRR 2D-F8) 50 ton trucks. The trucks will cast in Zamac, have Celcon® bearings and be fully sprung and equalized. Cars are ready to run equipped with American Flyer® compatible metal wheels and couplers and also supplied with code 110 scale wheelsets and the mounting holes for the KD 802 couplers.
