S Helper Service will be releasing a series of two bay open top hoppers starting with a 55 ton composite hopper modeled after the Lehigh Valley Railroad #14000-14999 war emergency hoppers that were built in August 1942 by Bethlehem Steel Company. Our car is similar to thousands of others built in the 30's and 40's. During WWII when the need for steel greatly increased wood for steel in their freight cars to help the war effort. After the war, many of these cars had their wooden parts replaced with steel.

These are ready to run and the models feature injection molded rugged ABS plastic bodies and detail parts with a diecast Zamac centersill, operating doors, music wire drop hand grabs, AB brakes with Ajax brake wheel and housing. The Trucks are the 50 ton Type “Y” in die cast metal, with Celcon® bearings, blackened metal AF compatible wheels and operating couplers. Each car also comes with 4 code110 NMRA RP-25 metal wheelsets and the mounting holes for the KD #802 couplers, making the change over to scale an easy and swift operation

The first run roadnames will include: Ann Arbor - black body with white lettering, AT&SF - mineral red body with white lettering, B&O - black body with white logo and lettering, C&O - black car with white logo and lettering, CB&Q 3 - red oxide body with white logo and lettering, Lehigh Valley - red oxide body, with black and white logo and White lettering, Nickel Plate Road - black body with white lettering, PRR - red oxide body whit white logo and lettering, Virginian - black body with white logo and lettering, Wabash - black body with white logo and lettering, Undecorated - black or red oxide body.

Four numbers are available for each roadname, as either a single car at $39.95 MSRP and the other numbers as a three car set $99.95 MSRP.
