Video of 2-8-0 Consolidation with prototype DCC installation

We are working on an adapter board to allow us to use a standard SoundTraxx Tsunami decoder to control the motor, lights, smoke and of course sound in our new 2-8-0 Consolidation. Here are some videos of the prototype setup. Update: We did demo the locomotives at the train show in West Springfield, Massachusetts, last weekend (Jan 28-29). Here are the videos! Please note the file sizes. Bigger is better, but can take a long time to transfer!

Note that the Tsunami comes with 8 selectable whistles. We have not yet chosen the whistle we will have as default, and the other 7 will still be available for modelers that like them better. The whistles in the videos are all different.

Video 1 is about 30 seconds long. The locomotive shifts from reverse to forward, and you can here the reverse gear moving. By the way, directional lights are standard, but you can set them up any way you like. You can also dim the headlight as another loco passes. Then the locomotive accelerates hard, with the exhaust pounding. The throttle is then shut, and the exhaust quiets as the loco coasts. You can also hear the side rods clank. The exhaust automatically gets loader under acceleration, or pulling up a hill, and quiets once it is not working so hard. Finally, as the brakes are applied, you can hear the squeal.

Note the file sizes! If you are on dial-up, only the Real Media is reasonable. I'll try to add some windows media at a lower quality when I get a chance.
