To use our track system with American Flyer, it is necessary to remove the metal rail joiner and plastic locking tabs (see below). Use a large flat blade screwdriver to push the rail away from and out of the rail joiner. Then, turn the section of track over and push the rail joiner out of the roadbed from the inside. Now, trim away the plastic locking tabs from the roadbed with a razor saw. Push the rail back to its’ original position.
Remove track pins from the adjoining end of the AF track and carefully replace with our AF track adapter. Install another adapter to the other AF rail. Carefully push the AF track with our adapter onto the base of the S Trax System™ rail joining both sections together. To maintain the scale appearance of our track, these are by necessity fragile. Removal of the AF track adapters from the AF rail where the pins were attached may not be possible.
